SILENT FLIGHT HOLY NIGHT, my new YA book, has been released by Level Best Books. Available wherever you get your books or e-books.
“Father Christmas doesn’t exist, you sad sack.”
Danny Scipio looked at Gary Hingely and felt anger rise inside him. “Since we’re flying to Lapland so these…” He indicated the other orphans in the airport. “Can go meet Santa, it proves just what a slime fest you really are.”
Hingely wasn’t finished. “I know why you’re naffed off. And it isn’t ‘cos you want to see Santa.”
“A bit old for that anyway aren’t we?”
“It’s ‘cos nobody wanted you to come, but they couldn’t leave you behind.”
And that was a truth that Danny couldn’t deny.
The Christmas flight to Lapland for orphans from Delph Hill Children’s Home is an annual event intended to bring good cheer and season’s greetings. The subsequent plane crash in a blizzard brings anything but. It makes headlines in seventeen countries, not because of where it is or the time of year, but because of who the passengers are. Twenty-seven underprivileged children, three social workers, and two teachers. And one thorn-in-the-side who doesn’t want to be there anyway. But with the plane snapped in two, and Danny Scipio tossed out of the tail section, the thorn-in-the-side is the only hope the other twenty-seven have.
