Sex and violence and a moral dilemma when disgraced ex vice squad cop, Vince McNulty, can’t stay away from the massage parlours he used to police.  Unable to cope with life outside the force after 18 years’ service he travels the north reliving former glories at Northern X parlours until a return to Leeds, his old stomping ground, prompts a change in fortunes.

Several girls have gone missing.  All young masseuses.  All from parlours that McNulty has visited.  When one turns up dead in an oil drum everything points towards a regular customer being involved.  A customer of the Northern X massage chain.

Protect and serve.  A police force credo and McNulty’s personal mantra.  As he is drawn deeper into the case it quickly becomes clear that he must first protect himself if he is to serve the missing girls.  Because one thing is for certain.  A disgraced ex vice squad cop is the only hope they’ve got.
