The Two Cols on tour. Outside of writing, my other passion is tennis. I love watching and I love playing but most of all I love competing. Between the 1st and 10th of August this year I did just that, joining 7,000 competitors from 67 countries in 56 sports at the 2013 World Police/Fire Games in Belfast. The weather held fair. There was only one riot. And I came away with 3 medals. A gold in the mixed doubles. A bronze in the singles. And a bronze with my long time doubles partner Colin Mackenzie in the men’s doubles. We have been competing at The Games, which are held around the world every 2 years, since 1997 and have been champions twice. We’re not getting any younger but we’ll still be there at the death in Fairfax, Virginia in 2015. Because the Two Colins never say die.
