Bouchercon 2014 – Murder At The Beach. Nov 13th-16th. Despite the tagline for the latest mystery conference the only thing that was murder was the heat. For a Yorkshireman in November. Being warm in the winter was just the icing on the cake though, because as always everything else was smooth. Meeting old friends and new readers in Southern California has no downside apart from the gap that’s left when you leave. I caught up with Lee Child and Reed Farrell Coleman. Was leaned on by Gary Phillips. Signed books for a reader from Campbell CA by an author named CA Campbell. Met a woman in a bikini and a man in a hat. More than one actually. More importantly I made lots of new friends and discovered new authors. That’s what Bouchercon is all about. I highly recommend it and will miss you all. Until next time.

How could you not mention playing BASKETBALL?!?!? Surely a highlight.
Guilty as charged. I’m going to say that folds into the “meeting old friends” part. Should have added, “scored twice.” Great to see you again Sara.
